When to go to the Emergency Room

When to go to the ER?  Many patients prefer a primary care doctor for care of chronic (long term, persistent) conditions, many common ailments can be treated at a center such as Premium Urgent Care.

This guide is designed to provide basic guide for when a person should visit a hospital emergency room.

Go to your local hospital emergency room or call 911 for conditions such as:

• Intense chest pain and you suspect heart attack
• Breathing problems
• Fainting
• Long term dizziness
• Severe burns
• Sudden inability to speak, move or walk
• Sudden confusion
• Deep wounds or heavy bleeding
• Coughing up blood
• High fever despite taking medicine
• Inhalation of smoke or toxic fumes
• Sharp pain in the abdomen
• Broken bones or loss of movement
• High fever, stiff neck and headache
• Trouble breathing or swelling due to allergic reaction
• Seizures
• Suicidal thoughts
• Consumption of poison
• Drug or alcohol overdose
