This guide is designed to provide basic guide for when a person should visit a hospital emergency room.
Go to your local hospital emergency room or call 911 for conditions such as:
- Intense chest pain and you suspect heart attack
- Severe burns
- Sudden inability to speak, move or walk
- Sudden confusion
- Deep wounds or heavy bleeding
- Coughing up blood
- High fever despite taking medicine
- Inhalation of smoke or toxic fumes
- Broken bones or loss of movement
- Trouble breathing or swelling due to allergic reaction
- Seizures
- Suicidal thoughts
- Consumption of poison
- Drug or alcohol overdose
